'COMMUNITY EYES'

Arpee rides again! or was it Philtown? At any rate he was back again as Santa and interrupting classes with his loud 'Ho, Ho' and enthralling little kids. Community Eyes noticed Ann T., our receptionist, beaming very happily. Well, who wouldn't be if they got an engagement ring for Christmas. Heard Mrs. Batoon was engaged on Christmas day, too. The holidays brought lots of parties and fun. We noticed Pam P. (Proctor), Peggy D. (Dunn), Sue P. (Platt), Carmen M. (Megertichian), Bob C. (Cohanim ?) and Jeff C. (Cohanim ?) from last year, just to name a few. At Dick H.'s (Himmel) and Ann G. (Genovese)'s surprise party for Peg, Community Eyes noticed Mark P. (Pinassi) and Sonia E. (Ellison) were having a nice time. Saw Yervant V. (Varjabedian), Celso G. (Garcia) and Lee W. (Worthing) around and about. Whats this between Frank S. (Shepard) and Janet (Cobb)? Sara H. (Harwood) had her annual New Years party. Loads of people were there - and those New Years resolutions! Just to name a few: Dennis F. (Farnsworth) promised to keep his mouth shut except during the day; Nancy I. (Isenburg) to get her mind off of boys long enough to study; Ken A. (Arnold) to break off with Sara (Harwood) (ed: ouch!); Conrad C. (Chromy) to push camels for the next year; Marianna B. (Betts) to get the guy she likes; Bob F. (Flynn) to develop 46" chest, 18" arms & 55" shoulders; Anne F. (Farnsworth) to _____ What do the blanks mean, Anne? Bob F. (Flynn) seemed lost until reunited with Sue W. (Wilkie), who went to France. Community Eyes heard Conrad C. (Chromy), Larry C. (Claassen) and Karen C. (Claassen) all went to Jerusalem for Christmas. Have fun?? Community Eyes heard through the grapevine that Shelah W. was getting married (maybe some of you remember her). What's this rumor about Larry G. (Goodwin) and Linda T. being engaged. Community won't be the same without Lindel W., Dick H. (Himmel), Suad B., Betty T. (Tabor) and Pat W. (White), who all left. A little bird informed us that Newell W. (Wright) had a good send off. Right, boys? Community Eyes admits that Bob G. (Gibbs) looks devine in Libby S.'s (Sayre's) coat. It does something special for him. Heard from the same little bird that Bob (Gibbs) and Mike H. (Hankinson) had a trip to Isfahan, what fun! Mike H. (Hankinson) needs to take driving lessons. Incidentally, whats that word that Mike doesn't want his name associated with?

The days must be getting colder, because the boys in fifth period lunch hour broke down and ate inside the rec room. Anyway, it will be a 'wreck' room until it gets warmer.

In the announcements recently it read: "Miss Boggs would like to see Glenn E. (Ellison) after school at the receptionist's desk." Glenn quietly replied, "I'd like to see her, too."

All the boys seemingly enjoyed the big snowfall. Results: Jim W. (Wood) had to get a shot, Grace C. became an ol' datch eye, and all the girls ran for cover.

This is short and sweet but too many students so diligently on their term papers that they didnt do anything special (news worthy) or gossipy. So be outstanding so we can get some gossip on you.

'MR. & MISS CHARACTER of the MONTH'

For Miss Character of the Month, we have chosen striking Neptune Ravar to start the New Year. Our pretty black-haired senior was born in Shiraz on June 30. Neptune cannot be missed as she goes around school - always smiling - and what a figure.

Beside making the honor roll, Neptune finds time to participate in the senior Money-Making Committee. All the time she can spare is devoted to a certain U.I. (one can't help noticing that glow of love!).

Among the things she likes are ham, cute boys, jazz, the color black, Motel Ghoo, snobs and her wonderful friends. She dislikes cold people, dust and spiders. Neptune thinks that our school lacks unity among the students - and a rec-room lkike a few years ago. She admits that "as a whole we have a pretty good faculty."

Steve Wertime, a junior here at Community, was born in Chambersburg, PA, but came to us from Arlington, VA. He thinks that Wakefield High School (which he attended in Arlington) is a great school and even a little harder on students than CS. Steve carries an excellent record from that school.

Steve is as outstanding in sports as he is in his school work. His favorite sport is tennis, and next to that comes basketball. As you all know, he is one of the star basketball players at C.S.

When he was asked of his likes and dislikes, he retorted that among other things he disliked (was) homework. Steve has a collection of all the Kingston Trio records, so he must like them a lot. Steve also likes sports cars, especially the 300SL.

Here at C.S. Steve is proud of his highest honors, outstanding citizenship, and of course the C.S. basketball team.
